Impact filmmaking meets action

Tree Media is a production company with a mission to use stories and media to help encourage an open society based on wisdom and informed, positive action. Tree Media has been working for more than 17 years on projects that examine consciousness, global transformation, conflict resolution, care & sustainability, the environment, and human development.

Tree Media has a long history of documentary projects, including multiple collaborations with Leonardo DiCaprio — The 11th Hour (Warner Bros.) and Ice on Fire (HBO) and the short the short films series Green World Rising & Pollinators Under Pressure. Tree Media’s films have twice premiered as official selections of Cannes International Film Festival, as well as the Zurich, Reykjavik, Prague, Seattle Film Festivals.

Tree Media films also have been shown in parliaments around the world, the United Nations, as well as the Nobel Peace Prize.

Leila Conners
Founder & Director of Tree Media

As a film director, writer and the founder of Tree Media, Leila Conners’ environmentally astute documentary collaborations with actor Leonardo DiCaprio – including, 2019’s ‘Ice On Fire,” “Green World Rising,” and “The 11th Hour” – have earned her movies the status of household names. She believes that storytelling is an effective way of progressing towards a more sustainable future.

Harun Mehmedinovic
Director/Producer/Cinematographer

Harun is the cinematographer of Leonardo DiCaprio-produced HBO documentary film Ice on Fire, IMAX: Grand Canyon: Rivers of Time, and a regular video and photography contributor to BBC Earth. His videos have been used at various events, most notably by The Rolling Stones on their Zip Code Tour, Pink Floyd's Roger Waters 2016 Tour, Desert Trip Concert, Paul Simon's 2018 Farewell Tour, and John Mayer’s SOB ROCK Tour in 2022.

Gavin Heffernan
Producer/Cinematographer

Gavin is a co-founder of SKYGLOW project, and is best known for co-writing the narrative films THE TAKING OF DEBORAH LOGAN, PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3D: THE GHOST DIMENSION for Paramount / Blumhouse, and an upcoming supernatural horror feature film produced by Sam Raimi's Ghost House Pictures. Heffernan is currently in pre-production on THE CRAVING for Netflix, produced by Darren Aronofsky's Protozoa Pictures.

Mathew Schmid
Producer

Mathew has been the lead producer at Tree Media since 2008, helping deliver five feature films, and over one hundred short films, including collaborations with Leonardo DiCaprio, Woody Harrelson, Carrie-Ann Moss, Walton Goggins, among others.

Rick Gordon
Producer

Rick Gordon is President and co-founder of RPG Productions.  RPG Provides production and post-production services for giant screen motion pictures, theme park shows, and television, working in 4K, 6K and 8K digital, and in 70mm film. Rick has supervised post-production for more than 50 giant screen projects, both 2D and 3D, digital and film, including three Academy Award winning IMAX films.

George DiCaprio
Executive Producer

George Paul DiCaprio is an American writer, editor, publisher, distributor, and comic book artist. As part of Appian Way, George has produced over 15 films. He is the father of actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
